Dr. Dorrough began his education at the Courant Institute and served as a teacher, a professor and a lecturer throughout his career.  It seemed fitting that his legacy should contribute to the education of the next generation of mathematicians.

The selected fund at the institute is the Courant Alumni Fellowship Fund, a general scholarship account for the Institute.

Dr. Dorrough’s Ph.D. was earned at NCU Chapel Hill. He believed that his studies in logic and philosophy contributed much to his later research in artificial intelligence and machine learning. To donate:

Dr. Dorrough loved the study of the brain and all things related. During his life he suffered from left-frontal epilepsy on occasion and his life was ended by the devastation of vascular dementia. Johns Hopkins has a stellar reputation in the development of research related to mental disorders and to disorders affecting memory.

Sincere appreciation for the thoughtfulness of Victoria’s co-workers  in Calgary. They have been very supportive throughout Dr. Dorrough’s battle with dementia and most especially during these past few weeks.
